Edit: Title is a tad misleading. Girl was not necessarily sleeping - more like just laying down with her eyes closed ignoring work. Still technically awake

Very niche situation here lmao

I was walking down the hallway to the bathroom, and this girl I’ve been having my eyes on in was lying down SLEEPING outside a classroom. Next to her was a sheet of work I suppose she was supposed to be doing. I thought this was such a perfect moment because

a) nobody was around,
b) she was doing something abnormal. easy teasing

But I was completely lost on how to approach in such a weird situation and chickened out.

I feel like this might happen again so any ideas?

P.S

Later I read chases article on approachong girls sitting down but both techniques - the “sudden notice” as you walk by them, and the “sit down and open - would not work because

1. Sudden notice still demonstrates you seeing them way before they saw you, because her head would be on the ground, sleeping.

2.Sit down and open doesn’t work because you can’t pretend like you were doing your own thing and just situationally start a conversation with her. She’s on the ground. No way you sat there by chance. Too much effort on your part

Anybody who can think of an opener that follows the law of least effort and still opens firmly has got to be the smartest person in the world cuz I’m lost.

(My first thought was to say something like “Man that work is NOT getting done” but I chickened out and beat myself up over it :( .)

Or perhaps dont wake up someone who is sleeping? There is a limit to intrusiveness guys keep it common sense.

"this girl I’ve been having my eyes" how about open her when she is not sleeping as you seem to encounter her more than once. Also don't overanalyze... as you seem to be doing this.

Hmm. I understand what u mean with a limit to intrusiveness, although I could still see an approach like this going well. And I was misleading when I said “sleeping” because she wasn’t actually sleeping. More like lying down with her eyes closed ignoring her work. (She wasn’t even supposed to be doing that for one, and she periodically looked up at the people passing her in the hallway)

And with the mindset of “I’m the best thing that can happen to this girl” like chase recommends, intrusiveness is a non-factor with the amount of value you’re adding to her life. You saying this is really just social policing honestly

If you write in capital letters that she is sleeping, yeah we are pretty much going to assume she is sleeping.

"And with the mindset of “I’m the best thing that can happen to this girl” like chase recommends, intrusiveness is a non-factor with the amount of value you’re adding to her life. This is really just social policing honestly "-> Don't cry about social policing dude. YOU wrote that she is SLEEPING with capital letters. Not us. Then write more coherent posts without misinformation.

Anyway in that case you can tap her shoulder and make a joke about her shirking on her duties. easy.

Sleeping was really just the first thing that came to mind to describe the situation, wasn’t necessarily trying to misinform. Ill think more about how my writing comes across next post

No problem, you'll get there. Next time especially if her eyes are closed pretend that you had to walk next to her and open her from the shoulder. Just a friendly tap on her shoulder and a smile to disarm as she will be a bit confused. Youll do fine :)
