IF there's one thing i hate about internet trolls and Westerners, Whey they see something extraordinary or they see a math quiz that's virtually impossible to solve, but someone did it,

We get labelled "ASIAN".

HAHAHA! Common, IT's CHINESE, and Chinese are not ASIANS. We don't speak like them. Vietnamese, Malaysians, Indonesians, Thailands, Phillipinos don't speak like them. We are Asians too.

GAH! I hate you guys.

Eh, I wouldn't be too sensitive about this. Every culture has its stereotypes.

Some of my best friends have been Asian guys. I love giving them culturally insensitive ribbings about Asian stereotypes, and they've never had any problem giving me equally culturally insensitive ribbings about white stereotypes right back. It's part of the bonding process ;)

But Chinese ARE Asians, and are not the only Asians good at mathematics; according to this article in Wikipedia, the top FIVE countries in math are all in Asia:

1. China
2. Singapore
3. Hong Kong
4. South Korea
5. Taiwan

... certainly true though, 4 of those 5 are principally Han Chinese descent and speak Mandarin (and if you talk to mainland Chinese people, they'll tell you, "Ah, Koreans are basically Chinese anyway!").

Malcolm Gladwell has an excellent speculative theory on why Mandarin speakers are so good at math in Outliers (basically, that because the Chinese number-naming system is so easy and intuitive, learning mathematics is much easier for young children too, they do better at it, and don't struggle with it the way most other children do).

I do mind when i get my a$$ kick from people not socially grace enough, like i am already lost, Common it's over. Help me back up, that kind of thing. Funny it happens always with people who are "on the way there" and not "there". Something unavoidable.

Most of them speak Mandarin. Erm I like to check out on Malcolm Gladwell sand the Chinese number-naming system. Might help ease my mathematics if i need it. :)
