I have recently started a new job and noticed that my team members participate in social ladder climbing behaviour quite often.
I want to fit in well with my team, but it's quite off putting. The problem is the more I'm around these people, the more I feel like my behaviour is starting to become similar to theirs.
How can I fit in and be seen as part of the group, but without the ladder climbing behaviour that they participate in so often?
Limiting contact is very hard but would that be the best solution?
What is the best way to deal with this when I am forced to interact with them?
