Was wondering about those that meet alot of women in cafes/coffee shops. Do you hangout at the coffee shop, solo, for 1hr or 2hrs, and read the paper or a laptop or something, and if someone walks in[or is also reading her laptop etc] you then approach?

Hi, solo, 2 hours is no problem. I actually like to recollect my thought outs of silence, but I take care to sit somewhere strategic where I can more easily open chicks.. you would be surprised how many of them come there for the same agenda 
When they have their laptop on I usually make a comment about what they are doing, or if they have an art book, I ask them if they are in art school. The gist is I just comment on what they are doing and look at how receptive they are.
And yes usually I have a book or something with me..
By the way... 3 drinks average in 2 hours if that was important..

I forgot to add.. sometimes I open by asking a girl if she can keep something/ keep an eye of something. Like a book that is still on the table.. or a bag with useless stuff in it lol.

i like to move in close from the get go and ask if i can borrow some of their table or space even if its somewhat next to them or it. Always brings about a smile and a polite sure.
From there i just go curious and shoot assumptions to stir things a lil. making it fun and interesting. A bubbly sorta energy.
Or ill use room presence and sexual tension in the eye contact to capture them and walk up, calmly, good posture and introduce myself. But that demands spaceous awareness and tension abilities.
To the OP question - it totally depends. But if i wanna pickup then walking in screening for potential and going close fast is my preference. If im sitting somewhere working im just doing that and PU happens on top of that - ill typically be doing laptop work.
