I was getting food from a fast food spot on my college campus when I saw this girl walk past me to wait for her order. I actually noticed her shoes because I plan to get those exact shoes at some point but she was also cute so I opened with the a situational opener:

Me: “those are the <show name>, right?”
Her: “yes!”
Me: “dope, I haven’t seen the black ones yet. I’ve only seen the white and brown ones”
Her: oh, I don’t know if I’ve seen those ones

After this, I introduce myself and she asks for my name. I then ask about how her day is doing, we talk about tests, her major, what she plans to do in the future and so on.

I notice the conversation starts to drag out and decided to eject the set. I could have asked for her instagram or number but it just felt like it wouldn’t go anywhere. I didn’t feel like she was investing enough in the interaction besides asking my name and responding to my questions. Is it wrong to expect her to automatically invest my asking me questions and being curious about me?

Was it a good call to not ask for her contact information?

I think my non-verbals were pI could have been more intentional about making my intent known through eye contact, facial expressions etc

It’s also the most stressful time of the semester so my game has taken a huge hit. I’m in my head all the time because of anxiety and stress so I’m expecting my game to not be at its best

Any other tip?
