Guys -

Being that I'm leaving in Fall I've got to start making some money - and part of me feels like it's a little to late to go out and put in job apps because I'd be leaving in a month and a half.

So, while I probably still will put in job apps for the summer - I need to come up with another way to make some money before I need to go. Any ideas fellas?

Side note: If I could market teaching Karate or pool that would be amazing!

But yeah, any ideas guys?

Well, teaching something wouldn't be classified as passive income, but as it seems to me that you're in a hurry, I think it might do the trick.

I remember reading from a book that marketing is like sex - only losers pay for it. It then made a case of messaging everyone from your Facebook friend list and Facebook groups that would be up to buy the product that you're offering: in this case, pool or Karate lessons.

The process was quite simple: message everyone following a template that would show that you care about them individually, such as starting the message as in "Hey [name], (...)" and then offering your services for them, maybe a couple of free lessons to see if they want to stick around. You'd do the same to admins of nearby Facebook groups of pool/Karate or people you'd think that have higher chances of accepting it. For Karate classes, for instance, people who watch UFC have higher chances of taking Karate classes (so you'd target nearby MMA fans). I can't recall the book name, though - I think I was reading it in the bookstore.

Maybe it earns you some money without eating up your free time. At least you'll be able to control your working hours.
