I was dropping off an application at Dairy Queen today, and I saw an opportunity to grow my balls at a table with her younger sister and dad. Wanting to try out advice from Light, (if you see this, thanks for the advice brother!) I grabbed my application, waited for the dad to sit down, and approached the table.
Me: "Excuse me sir, I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I couldn't help but notice how attractive your daughter is. *Looked to her and smiled.* I was wondering if.. with your permission-"
Dad: "No."
And so I left. Funny thing I noticed though. The girl gave me one of those shy smiles and received me warmer than any other girl I approached before. I think it's because no other guy in our town would have had the balls to try something like that, and I think she realized that too. If I can get a dad to say yes, I think I'd be able to get some great successes from something like this due to how unusual and direct it is. Plus, in my small conservative town, girls aren't very receptive and open to approaches at this age, so a bit of a nudge from Dad might be beneficial.
