so sometimes you can get into an awkward eye-contact 'battle' with a girl. the eye contact goes on a bit too long and she's kind of challenging you with it, and you don't want to submit to her by looking away to the side. which might be the less weird thing to do.
i'll say to a girl "are you trying to stare me out? is that what you're doing? you've got no chance, miss. you can't possibly beat me at that. you want to try?"
then they'll either look away or agree to the challenge, which, if they take they challenge, i just put a bored look on my face and look them straight in the left eye without blinking for as long as it takes. they always smile and look away muttering "how can you not blink for so long" or something. sounds a bit combative the way it's written but it depends on the vibe, of course. i find girls doing this like you that's why they are testing. making it a game means you can hold eye contact for as long as necessary without it being weird.
