I just described it to my friend and he said it was probably the most accurate thing I've ever said.
"Idk man I like go through life on autopilot focusing on other things in my head. Then when whatever's happening finally gets through to me like 5 minutes later" was how I described it. Whenever I'm slightly inebriated it seems to help but that's only a temporary fix. Has anyone else ever experienced anything similar and found a solution?
For instance when I was coming home today this girl was trying to talk to me and for whatever reason I was thinking about something else and only managed to reply to her with a yeah, nod in agreement or a fake haha. Only for me to realize what had just happened 5 minutes later.
