So i was re-reading Chase article

And i have a question about following up.
I am not a native English speaker,so i need some clarifications.
Chase said you can follow up girl once a year,and gives link to a forum message about how you should do it.
So you should follow up only girls you dated for a period of time,or you can do it with a girl you go with 1 date,for example,then you part ways for some reason?Or she was flaky.
Also i think it will be out of place to invite girl to your home if you have only 1 date and no communication for a year.
So how should you follow up?Arrange a new date?
