Welcome to Frame Challenges, a fun frame control exercise where we present to you awkward, challenging, and uncomfortable situations and challenge you to frame your way out of them. Do you have what it takes?

This was a scenario I was faced with recently and I think it would be a nice exercise to share.

Scenario:

You have a 0 for a minor grade assignment you completed 100%, but forgot to turn into the teacher. This one 0 is tanking your grade

You email him with a picture of the completed late assignment asking for him to change the grade for you. He changes it, but gives you a 50 (you got all the right answers, he gave you 50 for being late). It’s nice - most teachers wouldn’t do that - but you need an 100 for this assignment.

You need to get 100 on that assignment. How would you respond?

(P.S. You wont always win. Even if you’re the type of guy who’d just take the 50 and leave, this is asking how would you respond to get the 100 if you were faced with this.
Different teachers have different personalities and moods, so some may bite and some may not. That’s fine, this is an exercise. )

My attempt:

I really appreciate the help sir, because I
know that only the really understanding and
relatable teachers give chances like these. This serves as a lesson to me to be more attentive in class regarding my assignments.
I did the minor grade to 100% completion in class and on time, making the mistake of not turning in the assignment.

I know I should have paid more attention, and its hard not to beat myself up over it, because of the devastating effect that small mistake had on my grade. May I please get the opportunity to get full credit on that assignment in any way?

(possible framing improvements?)

Cant wait to see y’alls attempts!

I had this exact same scenario happen to me.

The teacher wouldnt change my grade, I didn't get the score I needed in the class, and I promptly dropped out of college. Best decision of my life.

I now run two successful businesses. One of which I used my time to focus 100% on after dropping out.

Oh and that class was a business course. Ha.
