The trick is simple: when around other guys that are shorter than you, tell girls you are 2 or 3 inches SHORTER than you actually are.
For instance, I am about 6'3", and on top of this often wear chelsea/cowboy/Timberland boots. So I am generally the tallest guy in a group I am in. Yet when height is brought up, I tell girls I am 6'.
This does several things:
- Makes anyone who is visibly shorter than me yet already claimed to be over 6' look like an insecure liar
- If any of the guys try to prove you are actually taller than you claim (and they often vehemently do), they look tryhard and you look humble
- Even if a guy didn't claim he is over 6', I can nonchalantly tease him that he is shorter than whatever he claimed and then stand next to him and let the girls guess his "real" height (so if he is 5'10" and you are 6'2", a girl that thinks you are 6' sees much more than a 2 inch difference and concludes he's more like 5'8")
- Sexy guys exempted, a lot of girls have varying levels of disgust towards men under a certain height, depending on the girl. For example, my sister often makes fun of guys under 5'6". A taller fling of mine would make fun of guys under 6". So you are effectively removing your competition from the running with the right girl, even if they aren't actually that short
The trick even works on taller guys too. If I claim to be 6' after another guy claimed he is 6'4", and we are clearly about the same height, he looks like a poser, which is magnified by the fact he is tall (one could understand why a short guy would be insecure about his height, but its just sad if a taller guy is insecure about it!).
