Howdy, this time I need advice on something that is actually going somewhere. I'm probably going to log this in a journal actually.
There's this girl at a local shop that I got to about once a week for my job. She's been working there a while but we never really noticed each other before. You know, busy life and all.
Well, a few weeks ago she was taking my order and since she's really cute, I finally said "You know, I come here so often and I don't even know your name. I'm Apple". She turned around with the biggest smile and said "Oh, I'm Oranges!". Our names are very similar so I laughed and said it should be easy to remember...Then we got interrupted by other employees and we all started joking around a little bit. She seemed really nervous when she talked to me though. Almost blushed when I asked for her name.
Next time I saw her, she was really busy at the cash register with a line of people so I just waved at her and she gave me the biggest smile. When it came my turn I just said "Hey Oranges, how's your day going?" Only had time for some really small chat since the line was so big.
Now today, about a week later, they weren't busy at all. In fact a couple of employees were standing around talking, but she made sure she was the one to get my order. She made a comment about me being there so late (I usually go there much earlier) and I told her it was because if I didn't have the order by tomorrow, I'd be in big trouble. She just laughed and worked on my order. After that, she told me she would check me out at the register. When we got to the register, she immediately asked me if I went to a certain school. I told her yes, and she said "I knew I had seen you somewhere before!". So then I asked her some questions about her studies and all that good stuff. She was super happy to be talking, and as before she almost seemed nervous when I was around, she seemed to be a little more relaxed the more she talked.
Unfortunately two people came behind me in-line and her boss walked by us, so I didn't feel very comfortable trying to get a number or get her to meet me somewhere. To be honest, I couldn't think of a way to tell her/ask her without making it really awkward for her. Did I mess up here? Should I have done it anyway?
Anyway, next time I go I NEED to act. Either get a number, or get her to do something with me. Maybe get a coffee? The problem is: How do I do this? How do I ask for her number without making it weird. We obviously have some things in common now, so I need to use this to my advantage, but how?
Thank you gentlemen!
