I've been dating this girl for about 2 months. Last night she texted me that she had fallen down and hit her head and back and she was really hurt. I texted her back saying I hoped she was okay and to get feeling better. I also texted her this morning saying have a good day and I hope you're better. She texted back saying "Thanks dear I was feeling awful this morning but I'm a little better. Still in pain though :("

I'm new to relationships and girls so I was just wanting some thoughts on the situation. I don't want to come across as careless and over aloof, but I also don't want to act like her girlfriend. How do you guys usually handle situations like these?

When you get something where the girl is telling you she's had a major bad thing (i.e., not whiney or dramatic, but like she's been seriously injured, or got fired from her job, etc.), and she's not a drama queen who's doing this all the time, call her. Show some legitimate concern - ask if she's okay. Ask if she wants you to come over. This is assuming you're going for "girlfriend" and not "casual relationship" - if it's the latter, your response above is all that's needed (a "Sorry to hear it, that sounds horrible :'( Hope you're feeling better soon... I'll bring a cupcake next time we hang out" does the trick for something casual).
