Guys Hitting on Your Girlfriend

With my new girlfriend, I've noticed two things consistently when I go out with her.

First, let me begin by saying that I think she's quite beautiful, but she also has this magnetic and alluring air of energy around her that's VERY sexy and fun. We're also of different backgrounds (and a somewhat unusual to see combination - tall, dark skinned guy, and light eyed and light skinned, short and fit girl) This has presented me with two distinct situations:

1. I go out with her, and I turn away for a minute or two (to get water at the bar for instance) and turn around and find other men hitting on her. She fends off these men and goes back to me, telling them she's with me.
2. I go out with her, and we're together and while we're walking down the street, guys will call out to her and tell her things like "you're beautiful" or something. Or I'm with her say at a restaurant, and other men will openly compliment her on how she looks in front of me, and how lucky I am to be with her.

I don't feel particularly threatened, but I would like to know what the implications are of both, and if there's anything I should be cognizant of with her and such situations.

The only implications that could possibly come from this would be caused by you rather than her or the men hitting on her. So as long as you keep a sly smile on your face whenever something like that happens and never let your girl know that you're in any way jealous or insecure, then you really don't have much to worry about.

Even when guys approach me to tell me how lucky I am, I just kind of smile and don't really say anything. You never want to agree to their frame of you being "the lucky one," which I'm sure you're already well aware of, but you also never really want to put your girl down by stating that she's the lucky one (unless said in a very jokingly way in front of her). I just tend to smile and wait for the other guy to move the conversation forward, or I'll switch topics myself.

When a guy knows he can have any girl he wants, he's pretty much used to guys telling him how lucky he is when he's with one of his beautiful girls. He just keeps a smile on his face knowing that it's a compliment he receives all the time, all while knowing that the GIRL he's with is ACTUALLY the lucky one.
