Every girl have their own preferences, but here are some insight from what girls have told me:
"Men should have hair on them. Thats what makes them look strong."
"Its like a haircut, you want to keep it short, keep it neat!"
"Why did you trim your hair?"
"It depends how young / old you look.. If you have a baby face, I would probably think you haven't hit puberty yet"
I think generally speaking, having and keeping hair as a man shows your masculine side, and women are wired to be naturally attracted to hair as it symbolises Strength.
On the other hand, you don't want to look like an ape who hasn't evolved yet.
So really, its all about keeping it tidy and neat.
I trim mine, but not to the point where I'm hairless. I think of it as having a hair cut, and its all about the style

I don't know if it makes us strong but I too have heard women say this. As many things it all depends on the girl (and what you like).
In my case, I'm not a hairy dude, I have some on the middle of my chest between my pectorals and extending to them a little. The only part I shave completely is the hair that forms around the nipple area because I don't like how it looks on me.
Regarding the pubic area, I like to trim it very well. I like a girl that trims and in my experience girls prefer if that area is taken care. It looks nicer. I don't like going down on a girl who doesn't trim (I do it, I just don't like it) and, fortunately, almost all I have been with do so (in different levels). I'm pretty sure it's the same for girls. They don't want to suck hair!
