How to pass the age test (for guys over 30 talking to younger girls)

Because I look 10 years younger than I do, flirting with women down to 17 is very easy. But teenagers seem to dismiss me when I straight tell them my age.

So I've come with a good response to make then comfortable with the idea of being with me (after failing a couple of times).

I dont know, 24 maybe?
Me: You are so sweet. I am actually so old I was hanging out with the dinosaurs (laughs). ¨

This makes her interested but instead of judging you, she starts being more defensive on your behalf.

You are not that old! I think its fine to hang out with people with experience anyways.

Now, if she starts qualifying herself to you. You become the one who decides by this time. You could always say "Maybe youre too young to hang out with me" to sement this feeling and make her protest. If she does, you say your actual age (mine is 33). Usually she will reply:

Wow. you seem so young. A lot younger than my uncle/brother.
Me: I think feeling young has everything to do with how you percieve the world


If she accepts this notion, age is not important anymore.
For you guys looking your actual age, if she is talking to you, she is interested. So instead of making her guess, the dinosaur-comment works wonders. You show her you're not defensive about your age and make her qualify herself to you. People over here say you could lie about your age, but I don't like withholding the truth. If you say things the right way, she accepts it. After all, she likes you and wants you to pass her test.

You know it's funny to find out you're only 33. I guess it could be normal for a 17-22 year old to think you're "old". But it still doesn't seem that old where girls wouldn't talk to you.

Girls over 24 don't seem to care anymore, if she is younger than 20, age will most definitely be a topic.

Never dated in the states. In Norway, the age of consent is 16 so you wouldn't face any charges at all. I've talked to girls confessing having sexual encounters with "older" men when they where around that age, it is a little taboo tho.

The youngest I've had a sexual encounter with, was 17 years old from a social circle. We never discussed age at all, we where just two people vibing and having a good time.

16 is age of consent in 30 US states, 17 in like 10 other states, so that is almost 40/50 states where it is legal to interact sexually with a 17 yo. Perfectly possible in US.

Girls today do not care at all about age if you are physically attractive, and sexually attractive, and have and can build rapport with them. If they are all of a sudden having an issue with your age there is something you are doing to make them use that as an excuse to eject. I am older than 30 and girls in that age range never even bring up the age topic, ever.

I guess the trick is to lie about your age, but once you hit 30's, it's the wrinkles and hair loss and stuff that put them off I think.

I have a friend (more friend of a friend) who has male model looks, and I was at a night time 'street BBQ' thing with him about a year ago. When I lie to women I tell them I'm 34. I used to tell them the truth, but after 35 it started to cost me lays. There is a truth that you'll lose some access to those younger women just because they put up mental roadblocks "What will my friends think?"

Don't worry about being 33, it's still considered young by everyone except the dumb dums.

There is real age and there is looks age......

the best neutral age to use is 35 if you are way older than that..... again you need to look younger to pull this off, but is not a polarizing age... Guys in the 30s look like they are in their 20s, a lot of the time...

Again. Location, location, location. Age may be such a huge deal that you have to, I mean you really have to lie about it in such a feminist-infested country like the UK or the US (or Canada) but in my experience in a more balanced place like Continental Europe it should be that much less of an issue.

Kristian - why not reframe the situation? At the moment you seem to be defending yourself and trying to prove you are acceptable to her standards. That's a bad place to be in.

Turn it around and make it a plus point that you are older and more experienced and question if she is mature, experienced, fun and intelligent enough for a man like you. Do this in a light hearted way and it will help you a lot.

I don't try and pass the age test. If she asks I tell her, if not we flirt about other things.

I had a young hottie come bouncing up to my last August wanting to chat. I'd met her before in passing but she came over on her own leaving her friends, we chatted for 20 minutes and she played the time constraints card on me that "she was off to freshers week at uni next week". Question for the guys who lie about their age- does the truth never come out? I mean, for one, if she doesn't believe you, she could ask to see your driver's license? Or if you start relationship with her, someone you know might say or she could look you up and your education/years of experience on your employer's website could hint that you were lying

I'm in the same boat. Women think that I'm 7-10 years younger than I really am (I'm late 30s btw). But I'm not willing to lie about my age either. But it definitely cost me (yes I live in the US). It's a mixed bag too. Some 25 year old women have a problem, while some 20 yrs old don't (usually ones with kids don't care). I think that if it's acceptable for 2 guys or 2 girls to date, why can't 2 straight intelligent adults? What happened to the love is love argument? When I get the "your old enough to be my dad" trope, I respond nicely with an anecdote. But it's a phrase so popular that people forgot who it's insulting. When a woman says this they are insinuating that they don't know who their own father is, and that this is potentially incest. This guilt by association fallacy needs to end. It's so dumb.

I think if you can relate on family, career and interests, age is not an issue. Case in Point , my buddy at 52 was still running and mountain biking right with the late 20 year olds. One of them finally got him to marry her (or Vice versa I dunno). Key point...She didn't want kids...neither did he.

Actually the long term couples I know with big age differences are all very athletically active. I'm looking at mostly 5-10-15 years age differences.

Don't say it is because they have money either...these guys are working very physical jobs 5 days a week. The women might make more than them..


During my bachelorhood I became acquainted with a 20 something whose younger sister was on my daughter's team. She definitely was a daddy's girl and I could tell she enjoyed the attention from her dad's friends riding motorcycles, or drinking beer (judging from the social media). When she sat behind me at a game, and massaged my shoulders, (while telling me she had her own place) I thought that might be a window but I wasn't in a position to pursue it, and the relationship with her parents was more of a roadblock than anything. My point here is THAT is the kind of woman who appreciates an older man. Maybe not her dad's buddy, but not afraid to hang out with an older crowd.

Look for a younger woman who hangs out with older women. I'm thinking little sisters with older siblings. There are also personality types often known as "Old Souls"

One of the best "lines" I heard was a young lady said "sorry I have a boyfriend" and the fella straight up serious pointed to himself and said "Well you let me know when you are ready for a MANfriend."

I am in my mid 50s and in the last few weeks before the world got hit by Covid 19 i was dating girls in their mid 20s at the local university. What I noticed is that if the girl really likes you she will not even ask you your age. Others would either tell me i am too old which I was ok with or they would make some polite excuse and move on.
