If GF asks if she can see other people while you are away in another state for months, what phrases should you say?

It seems like if you say 'yes you can see other people' then you don't sound committed / aren't serious about a relationshp w/ her

It seems like if you say 'no' you risk seeming overprotective / controlling

The first option seems worse to me, but is there anything else

But if I'm only staying at her place for some months and then leaving to be far away back to my Mom's basement afterwards, I have to think that this question will come up in her mind
