Hello,

I have a niche expertise within my field and put a lot of effort into projects to both share that knowledge with peers and expand upon it, but the lack of others motivation and effort has not only killed that project, but left me unmotivated and I've been lazy about staying on top of my own learning and career progression. To reconcentrate my efforts, I'm considering scrapping the group thing and trying to find a way to share my expertise online, and given that you guys have experience with that, I'm wondering if you have any tips on trying to monetize it as I could use an extra source of income, even if it's a small one. It would be geared for people within my field, but I can certainly see a lot of the general population being interested as well. I don't see a subscription thing working well, at least not for several months/years and I'm not sure that that is a route I want to go either.

Thanks

Limp-

I suggest Glenn Allsop's ViperChill and Neil Patel's Quick Sprout as a couple of great resources for building good things in the online space. Steve Pavlina has a great "oldie but goodie" here: How to Build a Successful Online Business.

If you like video interviews, I'd highly recommend Mixergy; I'm not much of a videos guy (an article you can skim, but a video, you just got to have a big block of time you can set aside to watch that... hard to do on a tight schedule), but the few videos I have seen from there have been quite good.
