Hey guys,

How do you work out body fat percentage?

I'm 5ft 6, weigh about 160 lbs.

I've got this down from about 170 lbs in the last month and a half. I'm trying to get to about 150lbs by the end of the year.

I know it's not all about your weight and muscle weighs more than fat, so I'm not just concentrating on what I weigh.

I'm doing resistance training and trying to eat a diet with more protein and less carbs to help build muscle.
As far as cardio goes, I walk a lot, at least an hour and a half a day. And I've been limiting my calorie intake - some days are more successful than others obv :)

I'm aiming for 15% body fat, but all I have to go on are pictures of what 15% looks like.

Is there a better way to do this than simply comparing yourself to pictures of where you want to be?

I have a digital scale that can measure body fat, muscle mass, bone weight. You could look for a digital scale that is able to read for those things.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take

What star boy said,

also another tool that’s been used longer than I’ve been alive are body calipers. They’re basically a clamp used to pinch fat around certain areas in order to measure the amount of subcutaneous fat underneath the skin. The fat is summed up and you’re given your percentage.

They’re a little less simple to use, but byfar the most accurate when performed right.
