Hey, players!
So, I have just one clarification question today. In the newbie assignment, Chase's products, and places all over the site, I've been recommended to learn eye contact by making it with the people I pass by. However, I was also advised against staring.
My question then is: When I pass by these people, should I continue making eye contact with them even if they're not reciprocating? I feel more comfortable making eye contact when they return it, but if they're not looking at me while I'm looking at them I feel like I'm staring, and it's really uncomfortable.
As an example, today I was walking down the hallway of the mall. I spotted a woman about fifteen feet away, and tried to make eye contact. However, she didn't look back, so it felt really weird to continue looking at the bridge of her nose as we approached each other while she never returned eye contact. I suspect it plays into how I'm expending a lot of effort while she's expending little, as the Law of Least Effort dictates.
Your perspective on this would be much appreciated.
