One month ago.

She boarded the shuttle and said hi to the driver then to me, with a submissive downwards eye contact break. She remarked on my full size umbrella. I teased her for her little umbrella that will break as mine did and her choice of footwear in the rain. We asked about each others' departments.

Getting off, she almost stepped in a puddle so I teased her again. Walking in, she mentioned something about getting up early that day (maybe regarding our chance encounter timing). Someone joined us on the elevator. From the thread about her waking up, I asked if she's a coffee drinker (she said tea). I asked if she was free to meet in the lobby coffee shop. She said she thinks she has time and I said I'd find her on the messenger. We exchanged names and I pulled the badge hanging around her neck for the spelling. She covered her photo on it and she confirmed my name while exiting the elevator.

About half hour later, we had a quick message exchange regarding availability and met immediately downstairs. She got on the elevator I was riding down with a male colleague I had just met "nice meeting you". Walking to the coffee shop, I asked about her work and the confidentiality of it. I said I shouldn't even be talking to her since she's in HR. She said she could write me up and we exchanged a glance. I got a coffee and was acknowledged by both baristas by name. I paid and she told the barista she had already had tea that morning.

We grabbed a seat and I sat next to her. I asked a bit about her (based on where she lives around), and she touched my arm while making a point. Then she asked if I invited her to watch me drink coffee and remarked that it was rude. I responded I invited her to talk to her and that I couldn't let her spend so much on a tea bag. I said we don't have to sit and that we could walk around the building. I had 20 minutes before a meeting. She readily agreed. I asked how long she'd been working there. She talked about getting her steps in on her lunch hours and I said I'd show her a secret.

I took her to the abandoned top floor to look at the city view. I got a little close and she started asking more about me. As tension rose, she gave herself space and called for me to follow her to the rest of the floor. I asked where she was trying to take me (tone as if she was trying to get me more alone). I told her I should not have told her my name since she works in HR. We reached the end that would have been closed quarters and went back to the elevator.

Riding down I showed her a secret passageway between floors, then sent her back to work on the elevator with a touch on her arm saying I'd talk to her later.

I never did.

I agree you are correct on this. I think the potential risks way outweigh the benefits in this one. Tattooed materialista, working directly in employee complaints division. I work with her superiors sometimes who have actual sway on staffing.

So no long term potential, desire to connect social circles in this particular case, or likely professional benefit.

So with no escalation progression, I figure anything but vanishing will eventually lead her into auto rejection. I figure she already did from the time lapse, but maybe there will be a sexually tense moment if I run into her again...
