Maintaining Eye Contact

I notice quite a few women looking at me so I make eye contact back and smile. They look away but they never look back for me to lock eyes with them in a sexy way. I'm trying to troubleshoot this but I'm a little stuck. A couple ideas I've had are:

* Maybe I'm not smiling big enough for them to notice. I try to sexy-smile but I'm not sure it comes across from a distance.
* Maybe my look at them is too fast/darting and it turns them off

I've been trying to pay conscious attention to these two but I'm not sure. Any other ideas? Are my expectations out of line--should I expect a girl to look back and return my smile?

What you described is typically known as accidental eye contact. You know, when you're just scanning the room and suddenly your eyes meet with someone else that was doing the same thing and they look away.

No need to try and generate big smiles. It may make it easier to approach, but it'll probably damage the levels of sexiness.

The best way to go about this is pre-opening them, instead of trying to engage from afar. Rather than make eye contact with anyone while looking around the room, try to just scan it or walk around and pre-open women by first speaking or lightly touching them. After they look for your eye contact, you can then engage in a lock with them, as seen in an article labeled Elite Eye Contact.

I never liked trying to open from across rooms. Logistically speaking, it was a big drag to have to try and figure out how to get them to come over to me. So, I just naturally wander a bit and use pre-opening instead so that an unnecessary step is avoided. Try this, and keep the sexy smile on her and give a warmer smile once she contributes to the conversation.

Her: Look away: scanning down (checking you over) or to the side (coy)
You: look away (same as hers)
Her: eye contact
you: eye contact
Her: smile (sexy)
You: smile (sexy)
Her: twinkly eyes

Then you either say hello sexily or walk away depending on what you want to do about it.

Believe me when you get it right there is no doubt that you've got 'the message' and neither does she.
