I set out with my wing girl who's bi determined to make this a field report, but unfortunately, things just didn't go well. I swear, my town is devoid of any signs of life, and when I have the means, I'll move to a big city. Despite my determination, there were only 2 girls I saw the whole time that were not with a parent, not in middle school, not asian (not out of racism as I am asian, but just out of knowledge that they tend to be REALLY conservative), and not with a boyfriend. I pounced at both opportunities which I'll cover below, but I had no success..
I went with my wing girl to a nearby mall... The only place with any commerce nearby. She was asking me for advice because, as hard as it is to meet pretty girls in my town, it's even harder to meet girls that aren't completely straight, and I sincerely feel bad for her predicament. Despite my lack of Lay Reports, I happen to be the best with girls, of all the guys she knows, (sad but true for my town) thanks to my exposure to this site. I honestly can't thank Chase enough.
Anyway, our plan was to go from store to store in the mall to scope people out. The mall was packed with girls, but they were almost all either Asian, way younger than me but dressed like girls my age, with a boyfriend, or with a parent... I happened to find an energetic hired gun in Zumiez though, and the interaction was alright. I don't remember exactly how it started, because I turned it into an attempted pick up without planning it, but I ended up asking her where she went to school, what she planned on doing after school, and what she dreamed to do. The conversation ended when she went to help a customer, and since we didn't relate very well, I moved on.
The next girl I met was in the Hollister store. My friend seemed more anxious about this even though I was the one planning on approaching, and warned me they were all older. I was thinking out of the fact that the mall was scarce for options that it couldn't hurt, so I found an attractive looking girl, sauntered up and gave it a shot. The conversation went something along the lines of:
Me: "Hi, do you think you could point me in direction of the nearest Hollister store?
Her: "Um yeah, this is a Hollister store..."
Me: "Yeah, I know. I'm just kidding. I thought you were cute and wanted to say hi! I'm Don. What's your name?" (Best excecution I've done so far. I've grown out of my jitteriness, my rushing, and any sort of nervousness)
Her: "(Name)"
Me: "Hi (Name)! I am into.. art.. music.. and I dream to one day turn this medical system around from where it's gone." (Next time, I'll say this when I tell her my name, then after the introduction, I'll ask hers.)
Her: "Awesome. Well, I am the manager in this store, and I spent the school year in college in Kenya because my dream is to work in a foster home for African children. I'm spending the summer with family now, and friends because I'm 21"
At that point, I could tell nothing would have come from the interaction, because I'm 17. Next time though, I'll just continue the conversation for practice.
Me: "Oh, that's a really cool dream! I like that! What's stopping you though?" (Bad)
Her: "Nothing's stopping me. I got to be in Kenya for the school year."
Me: "That's awesome. Well nice meeting you!" (I ought to learn to say goodbye cleaner. Even if I don't plan on meeting them again.)
We continued looking around, but couldn't find anyone. We went home because we were short on time. A little while later though, I was determined to turn this into a Field Report. I wanted to post a Field Report even more than I wanted to actually bring a girl into my life, so under the prefix of buying tomatoes, I asked my mom for money, and set out for one more push. Unfortunately, Aldi's had nobody, and neither did the Savers right by it. Still not willing to give up, I remembered we had to buy my dog a chew toy and asked my mom if I could go Target.
I don't think I have to write about what happened in that store. If there was anyone there, this would be an FR or something. Oh well. Despite all the factors against me, I like the person I'm becoming through going out like this and trying to find people. I wonder what kind of person I'll have turned into when I go back to school in September...
