Here's a video I found on an experiment conducted by a hypnotist Derren Brown, on people of a small town Todmorden, to test people's believe on luck and how it relates to grabbing opportunity vs people who don't.
It very well shows how believing in luck made people 'persist more' & 'play longer'. But the object of luck was all false and a rumor, spread by Derren.
it tells a story of a butcher who believed he was unlucky and how that believe made him miss opportunities right in front of him.
