Ive aways wanted to move to a big city like NY or LA, but I'm not sure how to do so, let alone how much money it would take and how to make friends in another city. Does anyone know how to make a move to the big city (moving from DC).

Employment, use your university's career center to find openings. Work for a national company? See about a transfer.
