What types of music, media, activities, situations or things do you surround yourself with to encourage congruence with your emerging social self. I've been listening to everything from the Rolling Stones to James Brown to The Heavy etc... I'm looking for music that would make me feel calibrated, not uptight, cool, comfortable.

Any thoughts or other influences that I can surround myself with would be awesome!

Meditation, nature, and deep breathing are all things that really set my mind straight and primed for anything, including socializing.

Though your time may be better spent actually going out and socializing rather than prepping a vibe for socializing.

Building social momentum and getting in the habit of socializing is most productive. Chat up those around you a little more than you would, and be aware of their levels of energy and your surroundings.

I will let you in on a little pet peeve of mine, the lack of awareness of others time or desire to chat, like for instance talking too long in line with the cashier or just talking too long about nonsense that I do not want to hear about!

Parkour,

Let me start out by saying that I absolutely love classic rock. That's the music I was raised on, and it definitely promotes an aura of coolness and low-energy. Some of my favorites from that genre are the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Eagles.

However, I think it's also good to spend a lot of time listening to what everyone else is listening to. Turn the radio to the stations that the social circles you are into are listening to, and you'll be much more in tune to the group. Let people around you choose what music to listen to, and get involved in that culture a little bit.

I routinely listen to a pop station or a country station when I drive my car around, because those are the popular stations in my area and the collective musical minds are tuned into that experience.
