My dream is I want to be a chemical engineer though in high school I didn't take any chemistry or physics courses though I was really good at Math and got A's in all my math courses. I have been in the military for 4 and a half years and at the end of my 6 year contract I plan on getting out of the military to go pursue my dream.

I am also in the process of getting married to my Fiance. My biggest fear is that I am dropping a secure job to pursue a dream but if I fail I will bring her down with me ....

Like a ton of what ifs...

What if I fall into debt?
What if I fail out in school?
What if I succeed school but then can't find a job afterward?

Life is about chances my friend, just have to decide which chances are worth taking! What if you fall into debt? You can climb your way out of it, but at the same time many schools give great financial aid to ex military students. What if you fail out of school? Don't, it's that simple. Sure the major you want might change but failure is not an option. What if you can't find a job? What if you can find a job that goes above and beyond what you want? Just think positively and you have this in your pocket. It may get a little challenging, but that's the fun of life ;)

Some of your doubts can be fixed by a book called... talent is overrated. Highly recommended

Thanks fellas.

I thought about why not taking some action now...I am studying Chemistry heavily on my own and plan on taking a College Level Examination Program (CLEP) test to test my abilities in a few months. Also I gathered all the credits from schools I have been to over the years and transferred them all to this community college to get a Engineering Associates. This community college has a program where if you're a state resident (which I am) you can transfer this associates up to a 4-year university and automatically get accepted. Luckily for me this school is one of the top-20 universities for this program and is consistently ranked high. It feels good to be taking some action.

Sucks studying chemistry after a hard days work (I do construction + military lol) but gotta do what I gotta do right?

I will keep you guys updated. I'm having a lot of fun actually studying ahead of time. I seem to have a natural ability to grasp this information quickly...
