What's up everybody? I just got back from a party after being downtown for the day. It was one of the most fun times I've had in a very long while. It was a really long day, so I'll try cutting it down a bit. Anyways, on to the story.

So after taking the train with a group of about 15 people, we walked around the city for awhile. We decided to head over to the parade, and after walking for a good while we got to the main street of the parade. There was a field of grass really close to where the parade was taking place, and that was where we were hanging out for awhile. It was kinda boring, and we couldn't see anything, so I headed towards the enormous crowd of people surrounding the parade with three of my friends. Normally I'd be too worried about separating from the group or getting lost, but I figured that I wasn't going to let my friends keep me from having a great time.

We moved forward, stopping to take pictures (and some photobombs) with a bunch of people partying or wearing cool costumes. Soon we moved even farther down, making it pretty unlikely we would be able to find our group. Two of the friends kept saying that we shouldn't go too far, and we wouldn't want to separate from our group, but I told them we weren't going to go back to standing around in a field. After a brief discussion, we pressed onward, making our way to some of the parked floats and trolley/buses (not sure exactly what they were) waiting to join the parade at the end. We wanted to see if we could get on a float and be in the parade and on TV. The first two floats/trollleys we asked said no, but we were able to get on the third one. At one point we were sitting on an empty bus except for the driver talking to him about how we spent the past hour or so, and (in response to us telling him we asked other people to get on the floats) he said "You never know unless you ask."

For some reason, it was like a light bulb went off in my head, and I realized that this can be applied to women as well. I thought about all the times I have held back and not showed interest, or waited for the girl to make a move, or sat on my ass making excuses as to why I won't approach. Even though I've thought about it before and learned so much from GC, I guess I needed a situation in real life to finally realize that I need to take charge of my own life and take action. And the fact that being "rejected" by the first two floats didn't matter, because there are plenty of other floats out there and I won't see them again. So I don't need to be afraid of rejection from girls or hold myself back anymore to protect myself.

So we were actually in the parade, got some other people to join us, and basically had a party on the float-trolley and running around outside in the parade. There were a few girls (hence why this is a semi-FR instead of just an OR), but I didn't try anything because their parents came with, all the guys on the bus outside of my friends were all over them looking stupid, and I didn't even find them attractive. I do think they liked me though, even though I didn't talk much to them. So after spending some more time downtown, we headed back home and went to a small party. At the party I did drink some, which basically broke the vow I made after the previous party I was at, but I was under control and knew that I wasn't going to be hooking up with any of the girls there. I'm also going to try to avoid close social circle for awhile (unless it's one of the few hot girls and it comes easily) as it can often get too messy. This could also push me to actually go out and cold approach because I will be limiting any opportunities with girls close to me and will prevent me from relying on them or making excuses.

The day was so much fun, and I learned some important things. Not much I need help with in this case, but any advice on how to stay motivated, actually get out there to approach more, and such would be awesome.
