Hey guys,

So obviously with alll apps and nonsense we have access to on our phones we waste a lot of time on social media and other other garbage. A couple months ago I deleted all of those things and it's been fantastic.

I downloaded kindle on it so that I can read when I have free time. The problem is that I have time here and there at work but not long periods so reading a book is a little much for the time I have and I don't get much out of it.

Are there any other productive apps or things you guys use when avoiding social media?

I want to find something else to do with the short lulls I get during the day.

Hey Lotus!

It looks a lil' lame at first but Duolingo is a great way to learn a language in one minute bursts. Being able to even say hello in different languages is great and can add some spice to a comversation :D Me and a mate who introduced the app to me learnt some Turkish, of which the first phrase was, 'Wheres the honey' aka Der Med - which we continued to yell throughout the day xD

Enjoy!

Audio books.

Especially if you have a decent commute to and from work, whenever you're doing chores, and working out even it's a great way to make unproductive time more productive.

The app audible is the one I use. It's basically Kindle but you listen instead of read.

I buy really long biographies to listen to. I just finished Alexander Hamilton and it was phenomenal.

Perhaps that'd be a better option than kindle?

Lotus,

I've always liked this site when I have down periods at work:

http://www.howstuffworks.com

They have short, condensed articles on just about any topic you can think of, as well as longer ones if you have more time on your hands.

Lotus,

Haha lol I love the question because this is a area I'm a expertise at. I love apps and I search for the best and I certainly have found the best. Here are my favorite apps :

1) Breathe Well: Taking time every day for a little meditation and to practice breathing better.

2) Diaro Journal : Write down any little thing about your day. I use it to remember my dates, where I went, what happened, and how I can improve etc.

3) DJ Studio: Not really productivity, but a good way to feel like a DJ and mix your music. A good way to relax

4) Duolingo : ( Alternative app is Mesmerize) I learn new languages during your free time

5) Elevate: ( Alternative app is Lumosity, though this needs Wi-Fi, not data) it's good for brain development. There are games that are fun to look at but strictly mentally challenging

6) Foursquare : You probably won't need to use this much. It basically shows you all the places anywhere you probably haven't heard of that you can go to and chill ,pick up girls, shopping etc

7) IMDB : Check out movies out and soon to be out

8) Palabre : ( Alternative is Feedly) Instead of using a browser to find your favorite websites use this to track them, when a article pops up you can save it to pocket and read in your free time. Good to keep track of what's important to you

9) Pocket : Read articles and watch videos later if you happen to be busy now

10) Polaris Office : Similar to Microsoft Office when you want to type documents real quick

11) UB Reader: ( Alternative to Kindle ) it's a paid one time for full version and books can be listened to

12) Wunderlist : Keep track of your daily to do list

I had wanted to learn another language at one point, maybe not right now, but thanks for the reminder :)

Shit......definitely a way to making cleaning and cooking less boring and more productive. I never appreciated how long it takes to maintain a clean house and cook healthy meals when you live alone. I don't even do anything and my place clutters up in about 4.5 minutes, and it reminds me of podcasts!

Thanks Rob!
