Sorry if theres a suggest improvements thread - couldnt find one.

Just wanted to highlight that the quote function and thus the reply function for me could be considered a thing to improve:
- It is not optimal for for readability cause of the fading, and somewhat odd placement. its not possible to properly read and recognise previous posts fast and clearly. it creates a diminished overview imo.
- The screaming orange colours alongside it on top of the above makes it iffy.
- It makes external quotes appear like skilledseducer material so i deselected it.
- its is to my knowledge not using standard practices on the area.

just my two cents. i respect your choices. just annoys me to the level where i dont participate in some threads so wanted to highlight it.

Hey @Glow,

I think I understand what you're saying, but to clarify... I think you mean quotes in most forums quote the entire post without doing the furl / unfurl thing xenForo does, and you prefer this, correct?

I'm not as clear on which orange colors on the top are making it iffy for you, or which external quotes you're deselecting.

Have screenshots of these you could share?

i think your right with the xenforo assuming its whats being used on this site.

To your second question - to be more precise its eg. about the oranges and stylings of various elements - when glanced across makes for a bumpy road. they ALL have a left side orangy line in the left side and sorta look alike but with slight differences. And yeah the faded quoting seems diffuse too. Its hard to distniquish or read as a flow. Mostly when several stand side by side look too much alike. Its not obvious what is what and is a strain to read cause the element are not easily distinguishable i believe. Also when responding to one with the other it becomes straining. I cant upload screen shots to the site - only link. But but heres an outline where i think you can see my point. I see that the text difffer but on quick glance they appear the same as the designs are same.

links, articles, quotes and like sections eg:

push like or similar on my post and youll see the like function even looks somewhat similar.

if i were to redesign it i would distinquish them a lot more. And make em much more clean-cut.

im also thinking more clear divisions between posts could help out.

hope its more clear now

@Skills,

We have image uploading disabled for everyone but mods... think there was to avoid copyright issues (we don't want to have to field DMCA requests from people uploading stuff to our server and us then having to take it down) as well as folks uploading stuff then changing their minds and pestering us to take it down.

But maybe we can change that for more senior members.

I'm having a little trouble locating the image upload setting in the back end; I'll check with Haseeb and see if there's a way to give, say, Rank 4 and 5 members image upload permissions.

@Glow,

All right, noted.

The quote functionality I think is not an easy fix. That is a hardcoded part of xenForo (the forum software we use). I don't know there's a simple way to make quotes display without folding. However, I will check.

Re: orange being unreadable -- that's a fair concern. If it's a big problem, I've enabled xenForo's default forum style as an option now. We had that disabled so it'd just show up as our in-house style... but if you want to try that one, go to the bottom left corner of the screen, and where you see the paintbrush and the "Skilled Seducer" name, click on that, and change the style to "Default Style." If you get a screen with blue link text and an overall blue coloration, that's it. See if that works.

We still need to get a "night mode" setting for the style. Maybe we'll work on that next (I'm a fan of night mode colors myself, personally).

Have you considered a night mode for girlschase?

That might be cool.

It'd be an entirely different project though!

MD has already spent about 7 months working on the new Girls Chase theme... I guess a lot of it was backend (we did a lot of reconfiguring how the site works / pages are constructed), so that might make it quicker.

I almost dread the idea of doing any further theme work once this upgraded theme is finally out, however...!

@Chase - Fair w hardcoded etc. and i fully understand if it is too big a job. Or just not smart.

Very cool with the default theme, thanks - i feel it overall works better on this particular matter.
- The blueness of the links vs the orange quotes makes a lil more divide - and is closer to a recognisable standard.
- A more clear post divider through a thin line around each post or comment. You guys could copy that - edit: I just noted that you have it - that on larger screens i dont see any post dividers on the current design. On smaller ones i do se a subtle one which helps. Sounds like a responsive site thing maybe.

Some other suggestions when it comes to shit posting:

- in Mpua forum the mods had a policy of not bumping over a year post that was against the rules...Specially for attention whoring.
- diarrhea posting with no content by same poster that just clutter the forum...

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take
