I have seen guys try to neg or do some insult-complement combination to get a reaction.

They usay lines like "I generally go for wild girls but couldn't resist how adorable you are"

Whenever I try to call out this they start laughing and say " It's ok to not be wild, don't be ashamed "

How to make these guys lose face without coming across as reactive?

Edit :- I am a girl and Tom is the name of my cat.

What is compelling you to call these guys out in the first place? What is the context of these scenarios? Are you just stepping in on some random dude who is trying to spit some game? Are you competing for some girls attention? How exactly are you "calling them out"? Its unclear where you are coming from with this. Like what exactly is your aim here with making these guys lose face?

Why do you want them to lose face?

The answer is going to be different if you want to:
a) Make them chase you
b) Give them a hint they’re making a faux pas
c) Politely reject them
d) Throw them under the bus

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take

a) Make them chase you
I think it's letter A, I mean, while would she care otherwise? lol

"Resistance is like a muscle. Keep trying, you'll build it up."
Lmao it took me a while to get that, I can imagine the guy just confused there looking like a chump, then finally understanding it and reapproaching her later. Or maybe I'm just slow lmao

It's more of b), c) and d).

I don't like guys who pull one upping moves and I don't want to lose face in the group and look like a push over.

Oh ok, it's more like a social circle type of thing, so you don't wanna be too aggressive like just ignoring him or "blowing him out", but still you kinda wanna put him on his place. I think Chase's suggestion still works though. I don't think the guy is necessarily trying to one up you, but I was not there, so maybe his body language said otherwise (his line actually is kinda cool, I can see myself using this type of stuff on girls I like).

You're a girl, the prize he's after. Not a competitor for the prize.

If the goal is to blow out guys who use lines you don't like, you don't have to be the least bit witty or approach this like an AMOG attempt.

Don't respond to the content of the line itself in any way. All you have to do is to show anything between no-interest and disgust, depending on how much you want it to sting. A small half-assed eye roll while turning to someone else and completely ignoring him going forward should be pretty devastating.

EDIT - reading the post above, if you're wanting something softer, calling out the tactic always works, it flips the spotlight to be about the other person's behavior instead of their line of conversation. "Neat line dude" and then just stand there looking at him for a few seconds to create that awkward pause that makes guys want the ground to open up and swallow them, or turn elsewhere. The main thing is to not respond to the content of the line, which buys into his frame even if your comeback is witty.

If you're into him though, play along of course. Girls are often well aware they're being gamed, and play along when they like the guy.
