Hey what's up you guys!
I was wondering if you guys had any tips on making sales. This week where i work it is going to be super busy and i am suppose to sell.
The thing is I don't have much social skills (yet) so i kinda suck at sales haha.
For example, how do you approach a customer? or how to respond when they say "I'm just looking around"
I guess what i mean is what's your process when making sales with a customer.
Thanks alot guys!

Lol, That question is much larger than you probably realize. Sales and seduction are quite similar. There's a lot that goes into both, but with sales, the key thing is to maintain a friendly air about you that will make the customer want to buy. I'm guessing from your questions that you work retail. The best way to sell is to approach customers and ask if they need help finding anything. If they tell you what they want, then you're good to go. If they tell you that they're "just looking around", that often means that they know what they want, but they don't want you to pressure them, so they tell you that to get rid of you. Here, context is key. If they aren't near any specific products, just say "alright, just let me know if you need any help", then move on to the next customer. If they're looking at a specific product, make a comment about the product that is positive and complementary in nature. Often, this will get them talking about it, and then it's just a matter of selling the product from there.
As far as process goes, it looks something like this
Greet customer
Identify needs
Match customer with product
Build Rapport
Ask for sale.
Don't be afraid to ask for the sale. If you can tell that the customer wants the product, but is wavering over price or some other reason, often you can tip the balance in your favor by simply encouraging them to go ahead and buy. If you're interested in sales, you should watch "White Collar". It's not about sales per-say, but conning someone is really just selling something in an unethical manner. Neal Caffrey is a character that you could probably learn a lot from. His character is based on the life of Frank Abagnale, a famous, and quite brilliant con-artist. He has quite the interesting story. You should look him up.
