In a conversation, how often should you say the name of the person you're talking to? I feel I don't say it enough, but I feel kind of awkward to say it, because it sounds a bit forced. On the other hand, I feel like I should be saying it a bit more, as it has its benefits.

What do you think? How often do you say the name of the person you're talking to?

Its not like its a problem, Im just asking you guys how often you say it.

Sometimes it feels like when youre saying the name of someone, it gives that friendly vibe if they dont know you, but if youre already friends with them, then it sounds kind of off. I say this because I rarely say the names of my best friends when Im with them, so I kind of got used to not say a lot of names. But then I also remembered reading in an article here that you should say the name of the girl to create more comfort and so on.

D3,

Say the name of the girl when you send her a text. Don't worry about saying it in person too much. The thing is if you said, "You have the most beautiful smile" as opposed to "Ashley, you have the most beautiful smile." When you don't say the name, it won't be as meaningful because 'you' isn't personally addressing a specific individual. Using the person's name is more specific to them so they know your comment is directed towards them in particular. :)

Cheers,
Garrett

When you going to change to topics and you start to deep dive, use her name. It makes transitions easier. :) when you call someone name, attention is usually spike higher, and when you change topics to ask things about herself, she is more likely to be receptive to you.
