After a pretty good first date with a girl (went on a walk in the middle of the day and had good conversation), she texted me the next day asking if I wanted to hang out again. I invited her over for dinner that same night, which she agreed to. We cooked dinner together and ate, and then I sat next to her on the couch and was getting ready to go for the kiss. She's somewhat awkward and basically right away said she was going to head out. I was disappointed but tried to conceal it, gave her a kiss at the door and bid her farewell.
I'm not the smoothest guy in the world but I'm also not terrible at escalating, so it surprised me that she bailed so suddenly. I've read Chase say a few times that girls who come over to your house and then just flat out leave is pretty rare. But that's exactly what happened here, right at the beginning of escalation. I'm perplexed. Any thoughts on this? Is she just skittish?
