should I ask her out?

Hey guys,

There is a girl, I mean a coworker (it's like a student work anyways), who I like. We've been working together for 2 weeks. (we don't need to work together directly so I don't have to sit next to her all the time). She seems pretty cool... and she added me on facebook 2 days ago. The question is should I ask her out through the facebook? or should I wait for the next week and ask her out face to face at work?
my idea is just a message like "hey, I don't know what you're doing on the weekend but how about having a beer or two?" is it ok?

Ask her in person the only thing text is decent at is setting logistics and maybe slight rapport besides that everything should be done in person...
