Hey i know that there are other fashion post and i will try my hardest to follow everyones advice. Right now my wardrobe is basically nothing. However i am just wondering if any one has tips on fashion in specific locations. Or something i can wear temporarily. I'm going to a college party tonight and I don't wanna look like a bum with sweat pants and a hoodie which I wear in my house. I also don't wanna look like I'm trying to hard. i usually wear polo slacks, button down polo shirt with a polo hoodie over it and some Nikes to match shirt when I go out and do anything special. Obviously I like polo and thats all I really have to wear as far as fashion. Is that to much for a college party? Coming of as trying to hard? Any suggestions on what to wear I may be able to grab something from my local mall? I'd rather not wear jeans for I do not own a pair and have never wore jeans in my life. I know crazy. If its necessary ill def consider. Any advice would be great.

Hi Illflyers28,

I would highly reconsider not wearing jeans. I wear jeans to almost everything except extremely formal events (in which I wear nice slacks and a blazer). Jeans are extremely form-fitting and sexy...

To put things in perspective, what kind of "casual-wear" do you find women wearing that is very attractive? Personally, some kind of sexy top with jeans is usually a big turn-on for me, assuming she wears a size and style that fits her body type. So what would you think women find attractive...? Probably something similar, right? Go with skinny jeans though if you do -- I wear Levi 511s and I absolutely love them. They also make your upper body look more muscular.

It's important to have your own style, but I find that there are some articles of clothing that are just universally sexy, and jeans tend to be one of them.

This is my advice!

Hey Franco,

Thanks for the reply. Totally agree with jeans being sexy on females when they fit right. Ill go and try some on and see if I like them. The only proplem I have is I never wore a pair ever. I always hated jeans cause they would never fit me. I just need to find the perfect pair now that I think about it. As far as skinny jeans would you still recommend them to chubby/stocky men, like me? Or should I choose a different pair to fit my frame better?

Illflyers,

Jeans should always be form-fitting, regardless of your size, shape, or build. The idea is that the jeans should be "tight" against your skin, but they should not be "squeezing" you -- if that makes sense? I would start with skinny jeans and see what you think. You may even be able to get the opinion of an employee or two at the store. If you don't like the feel of it, then you can always work your way up from there.

Remember, if you haven't worn jeans before, they might initially feel uncomfortable because you're probably used to wearing baggier clothing. You will get used to it though, and you'll realize they can actually be quite comfortable when you find the right cut. Women wear things that feel uncomfortable all the time because they know how much more attractive it makes them to men, so they just suck it up. Men are luckier in that regard because we only have to deal with "minor" discomfort. ;)

I understand exactly what you mean with how they should fit. I'm about to go to Jc pennys and Macy's and give them a try. Thanks for the advice Franco!

Another article of clothing worth its weight in gold is a good pair of cowboy boots. They look cool, different, and they're one of the few ways to actually do something with your feet that doesn't look generic or conformist without being totally zany. You'll get comments on these if you pick a good style, and that's generally a good sign about any article of clothing - if no one's commenting on it, it doesn't stand out (not necessarily a deal breaker, if you have a REALLY well put-together wardrobe and people are just telling you you look GREAT, but when you're still in the bits and pieces phase, go for things that get you comments).

Hunter,

Solid stuff man, thanks for the information. Can't wait to get to the mall and shop around now.

Chase,

Cowboy boots are definitely something im looking forward to acquiring, they can be so badass. Also the other night I wore a sweater, people and friends said they like it or it looks nice, same was said about my pants. I obviously enjoyed the comments but should I only listen to the comments from the females I talk to/seduce? Basically what I'm saying is if a girl says something looks nice, should I remove that article of clothing from my wardrobe and get something that makes them say "sexy" or "hot"?... Like cowboy boots.

Yeah. I'd go for comments like, "Cool," "Neat," "Awesome," "Hot," "Sexy." If you're getting "nice," you probably want to change to something else... it's a very generic compliment. Still better than no one noticing - but you can do better.

Great that you're paying attention to these comments though and adjusting based on them. And right - you want to get the opinions of women you find attractive first and foremost. I've had items that male friends of mine have said, "Wow, that's really cool!" or, "Whoa, that looks slick!" but then women react better to something else. e.g., I have a really nice custom-made cashmere overcoat I wear with business attire that looks like a million bucks and gets me told I look super professional when I wear it a lot. But I get a much warmer reception from women I approach during the winter when I'm wearing a down jacket with a belt and fur-lined hood instead. Girls LOVE that coat, and it really stands out. They ignore the overcoat as just another generic overcoat.

So, if I'm going to a business meeting, I wear the overcoat. If I'm going to a nightclub or somewhere I'll meet women... I wear the down jacket! You adjust based on who your target demographic is and what you've received the best reactions from them toward.

What type of down coat with fur is it? Is it like a parka?

Like this, but puffier, blacker color-wise, and with a kind of speckled / matte exterior (if that makes any kind of sense... don't know the material, it just looks interesting):

Howdy!

Well about those boos they really worked out for me! For a long time I was searching for something different than just the usual sneakers or all stars. And finally found those boots and they rock! I've got this more grunchy Kurt Cobain look with a checked shirt mostly a bit darker colored. I follow this up with a darker blue jeans and it does magic! I've had many complements as well for the shoes (those awesome cow boy boots) as for the shirt they all found it rock'n roll! :) Offcourse maybe this just works because i'm still young (begin 20's) and because I'm a musician. As attributes I just wear the wristbands from the festivals i went last summer and thanks to those wristbands I always have a backup if I run out of topics to duscuss. (I can always ask what kind of music she likes, did she too went to that festival,....)

Hope it helped someone and those tips mentioned by others don't neglect them, they'r golden! :)

I've always been a big fan of Aldo, personally. They've usually got a good pair of distressed brown leather boots with pointy toes on the racks somewhere.

Thanks every body for the replies!

Chase,

Where would be a good place to get a coat like that? I've been looking everywhere and can't seem to find any like it. It is exactly my style so I want it real bad. Thanks!

I recently had to buy some clothes for my portfolio modeling photo shoot, and I was suggested a list of what to buy. It's a good solid list, might help you out:

2. Form fitting jeans, dark blue (as Franco has stated, the more fitted the better. If you want a more rugged look and you are not extremely skinny, get dark blue boot cut jeans. If you are more of a modern guy, Levi 510s or 511s are great. I have very skinny legs, so I do 510s.)

3. Dress shirt. You can do an black or white, or a color. Darker colors are more rugged, so if you want color I suggest dark blue. Get tight fitting dress shirt if you can't get a tailor. (slim fit dress shirts at EXPRESS are fantastic, and are on sale all the time. Got me a purple dress shirt that fits like a charm for $20)

Do you mean like these?

Quick question, how far into peacocking territory should I go? I obviously want them to be noticed, but I don't want to look tryhard.

Would it be better to get a simpler but sharp set of boots like these.

Go all out and get some attention grabbers like these (style may vary).

Or somewhere in the middle.

Something that I enjoy wearing that has gotten a lot of comments from women are buck style suede shoes. They give the illusion of boots, are different, yet casual. They also add a bit of lift if you are looking for some height. I'm 6'3 but I hang around the women's volleyball team and I enjoy that added 2 inches; I mean, who doesn't? Especially when I enjoy taller girls.

Here's a picture of them:

Not as expensive as cowboy boots, a little deviance from the norm, and still stylish.

I think number one are pretty stylish. Number two look like too much exotic wildlife died and might put off animal lovers & vegetarians. Number three are too 'busy'.

Fashion never remains the same. It changes every day or even every hour. Many fashion designers are practicing day and night to produce the perfect and glamorous outfit. I bought a beautiful dress and searching for Gianni Bini shoes with that.
