Let's say you are texting her back and forth using a proven structure.
(Like: get the number, ping, banther, soft close, hard close > date)
Now let's imagine you try to close and is left on read.
What to do?

Normally guys will wait a bit and re-ping.
Is that wrong?
Of course not.
But it means you are re-starting the process all over again :(

A better solution is to press without being pushy!
But how to do it?
After a lot of trial and error, the best solution I came up with is to drop the following text,
roughly after 2 hours of your last text, replying to your own close attempt:

"don't forget to tell me what you think of the idea ; )"

It would look more or less like this:

"we could meet this week for tea
i know a nice place who has an amazing blend of your favorite flavor"

(2 hours later after no reply)

"We could meet this week for tea.
don't forget to tell me what you think of the idea ; )"

In this day and age where ppl have the attention span of a peanut, it's not advisable to wait too much to get an answer.
Gotta keep the momentum going.

Does this work well for you? 2 hours sounds really fast to me for that - some girls might not have even seen the message.

I generally try to avoid pushing on non-compliance like that. Especially so soon. I agree with not restarting though - I've made that mistake many times.

Some other possible options are a soft takeaway like "or not". Or something like "Please don't tell me you hate {X tea place}". Or just bring a few friends there (like 3 or 4 girls and another guy) and send her a selfie video with the group having fun and a message like "X was great!"

I just tried this with 2 girls who left me on read after a soft close attempt and they both replied, works really well

Irrelevant in this context.
What matters is that your msg pop on her phone so she can check and answer it.

Usually I would agree with this.
But young chicks forget stuff really fast.
It's more of a reminder than anything else.

Me too.
Some other possible options are a soft takeaway like "or not".
Personally I would not use this.
Or something like "Please don't tell me you hate {X tea place}".
This I like....but mine is more neutral, which is what I prefer in this scenario.

Too much trouble IMO.
She'll probably smell that you are trying to get her attention without looking like it.

Agree 100%. It can be annoying to start all over, so to give her a reminder or double-down is usually my go-to. It's also a strange note to leave her on to ping later (unless I travel away and come back again months later, then it doesn't matter). Atleast if you double-down she can let you know what her objection is or whatever and then you can leave her on read and ping later or you can say "Got it, let's keep in touch : )" and then you can do the ping later and start all over. A better place to do it from.

(2 hours later after no reply)
Gotta wait atleast a day IMO, especially when the soft close isn't about the same day, or that you seeded for the same day, because you have a time-constraint and you need to get her out the same day

don't forget to tell me what you think of the idea ; )"
I like the idea of this, but I have some variants that I personally prefer. I would rather send a question mark or the eyes emoji after atleast one day. I have also seen "If you're too shy, I totally understand" or "Didn't take you for the shy type ; )" work well, they feel less needy and either it challenges her or she's actually shy or has attainability issues, and you hit it right on. Maybe that's just my preference.

Nice one, very important to avoid the whole 'restarting the convo' thing which just ends up wearing out any actual sense of familiarity.

Also prefer to wait a bit longer (I usually re-ping around 8-12 hours later, if it's morning I'll do it at night, if it's night I do it the next day) but that's just preference.

There's nothing wrong with waiting 12 hours or a day
But my ping works for a tighter timeframe
Let's say you want to schedule her for the day after
Waiting that long won't do
This was designed for minimum wait without being pushy
It's also a way to show you are interested, but not desperate, without being too aloof

Again, totally valid
But if I'm doing it so soon, I prefer neutral

Some other possible options are a soft takeaway like "or not".

I think the problem with this (especially in the context of a text message) is that it doesn't really come across as a takeaway, but rather sounds more like resignation or defeat... which could lead one to be perceived as low value (weak, passive, submissive, needy, etc).

I like these and agree that they come across as less needy, while still calling her out in a playful tone. Just wondering if there's something that could be added to place the ball firmly in her court? Kind of a "call to action"? Or would that be pushing too much?

Not for this text, it's more like a ping or a reminder to her. What she will do is come with an objection or an excuse or something and then you can take it from there. If it's been a pattern for a while that she's dodging you, you can put the ball in her court. But not after the first time IMO.

Got it... that makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
