Hey GC crew. Wanted to drop a little inspiration to my fellow beginners.
So After about a year and some change of working on fundamentals off and on.... I'm actually starting to see tangible results!
All that time I sank into my walk, voice, attitude, etc is finally starting to pay its dues. I also practiced flirting with everyone at my new job. I've been working as a salesman for the last 5 months (this is something I would highly recommend as it literally supercharged my learning speed).
In the last month I've worked on my wardrobe and started losing weight finally. Compliments on my looks and upgraded style have just been streaming in from some of my colleagues and I have to say... I finally feel good about where I'm at! Now there are some girls there who just aren't into me but even they, when I flirt with the new girl and she reciprocates, have started getting in my face when I'm with her and actually fighting for my attention! I had two cute girls trying to talk to me at the same time and my god that has never EVER happened to me before!!
When it hit me that I had made significant progress though and was not the man I was before was when a girl, a little taller than me (I'm 5'6 haha) and my age started flirting with me as I worked with her and was chatty with me. I didn't really realize she liked me until I had finished with her and she said, "Wait! What's your name...?" And I told her and she said it was really nice meeting you and that she enjoyed working with me and kept looking back at me as she left. Then on that very same day, I worked with another girl and again the same exact thing. She was flirty and nice and absolutely gorgeous. Talking and joking with her was honestly like my first date with my last and first gf. And I knew she wanted to talk to me because when I sort of paused while talking she prompted me with something I was talking about earlier. But I didn't ask for her number even though everything was right. I even held her hand "a little too long" and she was cool with it! She just let me hold it! But I still didn't ask her. I was stuck in the flirting phase and had just been flirting for so long with so many people I didn't even consider closing with her even though I really really liked her. It was also because I was stuck in the same "they like flirting but nothing more" mindset I'd been in for the last year.
I didn't realize I could have gotten her number until the store manager and my best friend watching both took me into the back and asked if I had gotten her number. I told them no they they were like "WHY NOT!?" Then I realized yes... I am an attractive man (now). And yes I can ask girls for their numbers and to go out and stuff if I think they like me because hey, if I get the vibe they do they probably actually do now!
Now I still have weight to lose, I still have to work on my supplicating personality I've developed from being a "nice guy" for my entire life. I have things I need to work on but I am finally at a point where I'm solid enough to actually date girls. I never thought I'd get here and it only recently dawned on me that I am.
I just have to say to everyone else on the same journey as me. Working on this stuff, especially fundamentals, is a lot like working out. You don't notice the muscle built or the weight lost until a significant amount has been gained/lost. In the same way fundamentals don't show their true worth until they have been sharpened to a certain degree. Once you have sharpened them... THEN you will notice the transformation you have made.
