Hey guys, I think it's time.....

I think it's time to make a change. It's time to get things right, stop waiting for life to happen. Starting tomorrow (July 1st) I want to begin this journey of self improvement! I'm writing this as a draft to hear from you guys and see what I can add or subtract from the goals I'm looking to achieve below. Tell me if it makers sense or not. Here we go:

(I'm writing this on my lunch break btw, so I don't have a whole lot of time!)

Short term goals: no particular order.
1. Complete newbie assignment
2. Find a new job.
3. Start looking for something I'm passionate about that has nothing to do with women
4. Get better at producing music
5. Workout every weekday
6. Gain the skill of approaching any women (guess that goes with newbie assignment?)
7. Learn a self defense
8. Go on 12 dates. 6 through online dating. 6 through cold approach.
9. Learn something new. ( eg. cooking class, dancing classs. Etc)
10. Complete these damn goals! Haha

Long term goals: again, no particular order
1. Get better with women, to the point where I can approach anyone and have choices or options.
2. Hopefully have found my passion and am working in it.
3. Become more self-sufficient. Do things on my own.
4. Able to defend myself.
5. Become free and happy with my life!
6. Overall just become a sexy man

Well there it is. I'm sure I've left things out, but I don't have a lot of time right now. Haha.
I would like to hear from you guys, what do you think? Too many goals? Not specific enough? Things I should focus on? Not focus on?

Thanks, TheRuralJuror

Hey TRJ,

It is overall an excellent initiative, provided that you have the discipline to follow through your objectives.

One comment, you have way too much short term objectives. Realistically you can expect to be properly focusing on two, maximum three objectives at the same time, or else you will lose focus and not progress on any of them. So you should review your list of ten short term objectives and decide how to prioritize them (according to what matters to you). Then focus on the top two highest priority, and track your progress vs these objectives. Once you reach them, proceed to the next pair of objectives.

Also, the objectives should be stated in terms of a clearly identified achievement, as well as a deadline.

Example, instead of "get the skill of approaching any women" (no clear, quantifiable target), you could have: "approach 20 (or whatever is realistic, yet not easy to reach) women by august 31st. Progress to be monitored and reviewed twice a month". Every two weeks, you then write down how many new women you approached, and monitor how close you are from your objective, if you are on track for the Aug 31st deadline, then adjust yourself accordingly.

If you are interested in this way of setting goals and monitoring them, can I invite you to take a look at what I did here. The method I described worked very well for me so far.

Good luck!
