This is the first entry in a series that will record my progress towards self-improvement and the realization of my life goals. My hope is that recording a journal will add a little accountability to my daily duties and help motivate me to follow through; I also think it is an opportunity to work on my writing, to reflect on my progress and mistakes, and to soak up any useful guidance and constructive criticism my fellow board-members have to offer.
My goals include much more than getting better with women, so if someone wants to read solely about seduction and sweet ladies, you should probably find another thread. Also, these first two weeks don't require any approaches, and will probably be useful mainly just as my own personal record.
So...here's my mindset real quick, albeit presented in a disjointed, uneven style, reminiscent of a mental rant:
Bottom-line: I want to become a powerful person. (I apologize, because I think that a statement like this is easily misunderstood, and saying something like "I want POWER" can automatically stimulate a pretty negative, maybe even cartoonishly villainous association. But....I mean what I say, and hope that readers will take my reasoning for what it is.)
For me, power is the freedom to do what I truly want (not limited by circumstance or personal weakness) and the ability to make other people do what I want. I think that getting people to do what I want really boils down to tapping into their motivation. I believe people are motivated by Fear and Desire (pain and pleasure, carrot and stick). To be powerful, to get people to do what I want them to do, I must do things that make them desire to do what I want them to do and fear not doing what I want them to do. So, what do people want and what do people fear?
In social interactions, I believe there are four types of value that people desire, and also often fear being without: 1) Status/ respect 2) Stimulation/ excitement 3) Connection/ intimacy (emotional intimacy, not physical....think cathartic acceptance for who you are) 4) Growth/ guidance
I think these four areas of value are nearly universal, and generally follow that order of importance (status being most important, growth being least), although I have no research to back up this claim, or even a vast amount of personal data points. Just an intuitive hunch, really.
So how does this relate to me becoming powerful? I need to be a person who can fulfill these four needs for people. If I can become a Magnet, drawing people towards me because I offer so much value, as well as a Hammer, because people fear losing this value and even suffering negatively in these four areas because of my displeasure, it shouldn't be that hard to get people to do what I want. The challenge is how do I become this person.
I think the keys that "unlock" these four key values are as follows: conversation skills, fundamentals, and extrinsic status.
I plan on focusing on improving conversation skills and fundamentals, and putting extrinsic status on the back-burner.
So...here is a list of my daily goals for the next two weeks. I plan on keeping score on this message board every day to help with my commitment, but like I said these first two weeks don't involve any pickup, and will probably not be a stimulating read for most.
Daily Duties:
1) 15 min visualization
2) Run three miles
3) Five sets of weight training
4) Two sets of vocal exercises (for a sexy, clear, powerful voice)
5) 30 min focused on conversational improvement (videotape self, watch interviews, brainstorm, etc.)
6) A grand total of 500 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats (the three added together need to total 500)
Today is the first day. Need to meet all requirements every day for two weeks. Let's get started.
