I had two very similar scenarios, both originating from a bar pickup. Both of them were there with a friend.
We had a cool conversation but they left kind of early and they gave me their phone number. We texted and set a date.
In both of these situations, the girls were kind of in a rush. Not really rushing per se, but more like they wanted to leave the date suprisingly early. It wasn't because of lack of attraction, because they let me touch them, but in a passive way only. No reciprocation from their side.
In case of the second chick, the moment I started escalation, initiated some intimacy or tried to raise sexual tension, she would let me touch her briefly but immediately after wanted to leave, and instead "meet again in a neutral environment, and get to know each other better."
In both of these situations, I feel some kind of unease to spend too much time together, and some kind of unease about sexual escalation.
I'm suspecting that they may have a boyfriend, or at least some they date casually, or not that casually.
Both of them refuse to meet at my place, and both of them suggest to meet in a neutral environment, and get to know each other better.
It seems that me that they are both dating someone, consider me a potential better replacement, but they need more to gauge if I'm a boyfriend candidate and they need more time to make a decision if they should take a risky bet to ditch the other guy and take a risk with me?
Communication over Whatsapp seems kind of erratic too. There are days that they would text me completely normal as they use Whatsapp as their main communicator, and sometimes they see to be little weird with how they use it.
MY INTERPRETATION
It seems to me that I'm not very clear about what I want from them. Therefore, they are in their own frame. They are clearly attracted, but they are not sure what they can get from me. So they play a long game to figure it out.
EXPECTATIONS SETTING
Is the problem that I'm not setting expectations correctly?
At this point, I decided that they are probably not girlfrield material, but pretty cool chicks nonetheless, and I would obviously like to bang them both.
