hey so I wanted some opinions on this interaction and some advice moving forward.
So quite a few months ago I got in contact with an old friend from University , we hung out a bit and got on pretty well but never got super close , we had been in the same intake year but she went off to do a year of intercalation so we kind of fell out of contact I, still had her number and social media but we had never texted much just a little. A few months a go I contacted her saying what’s up and we had a good text conversation back and forth , then things went quiet again, then a few months later she texted me, asking how I was , we started talking about her being in her final year and exams etc then again we were quiet for a few months then I saw a post on Instagram of her graduation so I congratulated and floated the idea that we should meet up she was like definitely , but we were both going abroad at the time so we decided it would have to be once we were back . So from then we were having DM’ing convos maybe once a week or once every two weeks we’d talk about job hunting she’d ask about work etc , we found out morwe were both into basketball, she shared with me
that her mum had cancer we were actually talking more then we ever had at university. So a couple of weeks ago I reminded her that we hadn’t met up liek we said we would. So we organised something , I was quite busy with work and she was job hunting and about to do a bit of travelling so we organised it a few weeks in advance set a day but not an activity . Then as the approaches she contacted me to get an activity set , so we did .
The day came, she had just arrived back the day before from a long haul flight so was quite jet lagged I said it was okay to reschedule but she said she was fine, so we had quite a nice time talking . We ended up walking to get some food, talked a lot she brought up her two exes somehow and we talked about that a little then also went on to other topics just catching up , we were laughing and joking , we passed a puddle and she playfully pushed me towards it ,later I teased her that she had food around her mouth when she didnt then she playfully went to kick me . These seem like flirty actions to me given we didn’t really have that type of physical friendship at university
Then we finished up the night and as we were going our separate ways I went to hug her but It kind of went poorly so I joked and said what was that awkward hug and she laughed and said she thought I was going for the high five . Then we laughed and she hopped on her subway train and I got on mine.
so being honest I went into this interaction without any expectations or plans I kind of just wanted to catch up with an old friend but part of my interest was to see if there was potential for romantic type relationship . From my description of the interaction do you think it’s worth a shot, do you think she’d be open or does the interaction just seem friendzone type interaction?
Ihow do I move things forward? We text maybe like once a week.I haven’t really been flirty in my messages to her should I start introducing that aspect ?
