Hey DG,

I don't have any in-depth advice on this subject, but as a general rule nowadays, I only send gifts to women that I have slept with. Once you have slept with them (and assuming things haven't gone south since), then they will pretty much enjoy anything you send them. But if you send gifts before you sleep with a girl, it can sometimes come across as try-hard or "nice guy," which is what you usually want to avoid. You can get away with it sometimes if the girl is extremely into you, but it also goes against the Law of Least Effort.

Valentines day is nothing more than gross commercialism, have nothing to do with it.

Certainly dont get locked into the expectation that you must do something because it's valentines day, utter nonsense of the worst kind.

Don't send gifts to girls on Valentine's Day, if you never slept with her. I have done this in school. I agree with Franco, it's try-hard and nice guy. and it often backfires.

I agree with what Franco have said.

I have personally screwed myself up before by sending flowers etc. It goes against the law of least effort.
I don't do it anymore... Unless she hints for it. But only if you know that she won't be getting any gifts from other guys!!

Should you really choose to send her gifts, make sure you do it smoothly and give the impression that its no big deal, and didn't require any effort.
