Haha, that was fantastic. If you watch his other videos, he appears to always be able to kiss some random girl just by going for it.

I think it's his style (clothes and hair), confidence (opening direct), and just general good looks and maybe accent (unless he lives in Australia).

I feel like a small few could actually work. One of my favorites was this:

Guy: "What has 148 teeth and can hold back the Incredible Hulk?"
*pause*
*Girl thinks for a while and is actually intrigued by this.*
*Girl says something, like "I dunno"...*
Guy: "My zipper."

It's really bad, but the way he paused and locked eyes when asking/initiating seemed to build intrigue really way, like they're already doing something "together" at the start.

I've only used pickup lines a couple of times in my life, purely as jokes. This is the one I remember most vividly:

Cashier: "Hi, how are you?"
Me: "Hi, not so well... I almost died today."
Cashier: "Really!? What happened?"
Me: "Well... you're drop-dead gorgeous."

She laughed and just went silent. This was back in high school at a coffee shop nearby, so I was dumb and didn't even ask for number or anything.

As for your question, it would be great if we all could go for the kiss by playing his line : " Hi, You're cute.... What the hell , Idk I'm going for it..."
Someone asked him in the Q&A video if he has been slapped by kissing some of those women as an opener and he said :

No. I don't do it on all women. I'm able to see which ones are enjoying flirting and would be comfortable with this sort of thing

So you need to be able to see the signs she's going to be comfortable with surprise kisses if you don't want to be "slapped"
