Blind date!!!

I need advice on this. My mother and a friend of hers are arranging a blind date, for me and the friend's daughter, because they say we are so much alike. Here comes the worse part. They want to arrange a meet in an apple bees with both of them (my mom and her friend) and the girl. I dunno anything about what the girl thinks. I am a afraid I am in a tight spot. what would you do in my place?

I personally don't like the sounds of it:
- Your and her mom are setting this up, so they sort of expect you both to behave. I wouldn't think she'll be happy to let you escalate in any way, anytime soon.
- It looks like the moms are going to be very involved in everything that happens, that'll take away from your ability to lead.
- The moms are going to be present at the date: that alone is enough cause for concern. You can't do anything remotely exciting, can you? Imagine making any sexual joke in front of your mother, or trying to hold her hand in front of her mom, or telling her "hey let's go for a little walk"- it's not happening.
Overall, the way it's set is very, very bad. If i were you, I'd talk to my mom and tell her "hey listen, I appreciate what you're trying to do for me, but the way you're running this is very bad. You should've be even running this, I run this. So unless you and the other mom just set up the time and place, and promise not to interfere any further, on ANY level, I'm not going".

Thanks for your reply. I actually did not pursue. I did not say yes or no. If the moms push it I will propose a separate meet, like ice cream or something, and only her and me.

the girl must be even less motivated than me I presume. Thank God for internet and girlschase.com


Without them I would be fooling around even worse.

Yeah, Without them you'd probably be excited about this fail idea of a date and ask your mom to ask her mom if she liked you... Not really the best thing to do now that you know what you know
