First Cold Approach, No date

I'm a newbie here and I'm planning on starting my newbie assignment from tomorrow. However, I have one cold approach under my belt that I did 2 weeks ago. I was walking home from school and had my fundamentals in place. As I was crossing the road heading to my estate I saw this girl from my peripheral vision who looked cute. After crossing the road I thought of the best way to buy time since she was coming from behind me. I stopped at a nearby shop and bought some credit and keyed it into my phone while still scouting through my peripheral. As the girl passed I could see her looking at me. She the passed and I followed. She took a turn, but since I know my estate I figured I could still use that route to get home and meeting the girl would be a bonus. As I was getting close this one guy walked right next to us and my approach anxiety kicked in. I told myself girls are silly and cute and convinced myself that his opinion doesn't matter. While I was still debating the approach some space had built up between the girl and I. Now I had to play catch up. I slowly closed the gap and as I got close to the girl the guy had overtaken her. I told myself it was now or never. Once I was walking side by side with her, I turned to her direction and opened her.
Dex: Hey
Girl: Hey
Dex: I just saw you and I wanted to tell you that you have the most amazing sense of style that I've seen all day.
Girl: Thank you
Dex: I'm Dex. What's your name?
Girl: I'm Lili (lets call her Lili)
Dex: Nice to meet you.
That was basically it. As we walked I saw the guy ahead turn around and he looked at me with jealousy in his eyes. I know he wished that if he knew he could have said something.
Lili and I talked about where she was from and what she did in the city. She told me she was a chef. I liked that. The conversation revolved around her and we didn't talk about me at all. I remembered an article by Chase where he says to keep it about her so I figured it was okay.
As we were approaching some courts. I cracked a joke that made her laugh then asked for her number at the high point.
Dex:I'd like to see you again. Would you like to meet up sometime?
Lili: Yes
Dex: Give me your number so we can set it up

She gave me her number and I told her goodbye. I didn't go for a hug though but along the walk I had initiated touch by touching accessories she had that I liked and touching her hair. The conversation lasted about 8 to 10 minutes.
Later that evening about 3 hours later I texted her
Happy to run into you today - Dex
She didn't reply so I texted her the next evening.
Hey Lili, hope your day was good =) Sitting here in gridlock... this city has the worst traffic ever! How's your week looking?(This was from How to text a girl)
She still didn't reply.
I decided to give her 3 days of radio silence, but being in college I had a crazy weekend where I met two other girls at a party and made out with both of them. That's a different story though. I ended up calling her 8 days later.
She picked up my first phone call. We had some small talk about her work then I asked her out.
Dex:I'd like to take you out for coffee or icecream, when are you free?
Lili: I'm free Saturday
Dex: Cool, I'll text you the details.
Lili: Okay
Dex: I gotta go. It was nice talking to you though
Lili: It was nice talking to you too. Goodnight Dex
Dex: Goodnight Lili

I liked that she remembered my name. I also made sure I was the one to end the phone call although it was short. It was about 2 minutes long.
I didn't text her the next day. Two days later it was Friday and I texted her to confirm the plan and iron out the details.
Dex: Lili hey! Lets figure out a time to meet up tomorrow. Why don't we do 4 PM?

She didn't reply. I had double booked my Saturday. Thank You Ricardus When the other girl confirmed I texted Lili at around midday
Hey Lili, I'm sorry I had to make other plans since I didn't hear back from you.
She still didn't reply. I was bummed since I thought she was into me, at least that's how I feel when I talked to her in person or called her. Since she lived close to me I also thought logistics were good. I would have taken her to a café near in the estate then hopefully back to my place. I still had a good time with the other girl though. I'm trying to meet more cold approach than social circle girls though.
I'm going to text Lili after a week and invite her to something else. If that fails maybe I can do a hard push and see.

I'll start the Newbie assignment tomorrow and hopefully that greatly improves me. Any advise will be appreciated.
PS: Lili lived in the courts I saw ahead. It was a good call to get the number at that point

Good job making it a slightly smooth approach, building some connection and getting her number.

You mentioned she answered the phone call while not replying to text messages. Why didn't you just finalize all the details on the phone call when you had her on the line? It's not a guarantee of success, but you'd have maybe had a little more probability of success.

Eg: When you asked her to the ice cream or coffee situation, you may have said 'so lets meet ____ at ____ on Saturday" when she said she was free.

Also, there seems to be slight hints of you asking permission to do things. Such as: 'I'd like to take you out' instead of 'We should have coffee or ice cream'. And 'why don't we do 4PM' instead of asking her 'Let's do coffee Saturday at 4PM. Meet at ______." (again, since you had her on the phone, would've maybe been better to do it directly).

Attraction is a powerful but also fickle thing. It disappears and expires when you don't expect it if you don't move fast enough.

Thanks for the advise. I guess I was a bit nervous before the call. We live and learn though.
