Copywriting pays like shit unless you go after your own clients.
Did you mean "a lot" or "pennies"?
Do you guys think there's any market for knowing how to use Microsoft excel to build and make spreadsheets? I've been taking a course on it and was wondering if there's any market for that kind of thing or if that's more just for personal usage?
Like say businesses that may be looking for someone who can make spreadsheets for them using their data and track patterns.
Here's from Scott Young (

"Everyone wants to be a programmer or AI developer (at least if my newsletter replies are any indication). Excel, in contrast, is boring. But a surprising amount of business activity depends on Excel.
In a previous post, I mentioned a friend who joked that his consulting business was basically just him being good at Excel. After that post was published, I got several emails from people who do the same thing (as well as business owners looking for such people).
Many of the most valuable skills aren’t cutting-edge; instead, they involve being highly skilled with a commonly used tool."
I have also been on the other side of the table where I needed to hire someone with VBA skills to solve a problem on a platform (Excel) that is widely used and a lot of people are familiar with. Was it the best solution? Probably not. Was it elegant? Definitely not. But it did the job.
Hey guys
I want to start doing freelance work, specifically stuff like proofreading, copywriting, translating and transcripting in my native language, danish, and english. However, i have no bachelor's degree, master's degree or what have you except my own word for that i am extremely skilled in both danish and english and have a natural talent for communication and language (which is why i want to play around with this stuff).
I know some of you guys live the online, digital nomad lifestyle, so i would love some tips and help from you!
Cheers
Danish is a huge advantage because how far a modest Danish salary will go in most places of the world.
Not exactly in line with freelancing and digital nomadism but as case in point: A friend of my Finnish friend worked for a Swedish company doing Finnish language customer support... while living in Colombia. There are agencies looking for speakers of Nordic languages and offer jobs abroad but they don't pay so well based on what I've seen.
Not sure about the regulations but if you could something like described above and optimize taxes (e.g. bill hours from your company etc.).. then that could be a very sweet deal.
