Do you guys think there's any market for knowing how to use Microsoft excel to build and make spreadsheets? I've been taking a course on it and was wondering if there's any market for that kind of thing or if that's more just for personal usage?

Like say businesses that may be looking for someone who can make spreadsheets for them using their data and track patterns.
And get really good in making data dashboards and reports. You would need some knowledge of VBA, Macros and Excel formulas. It doesn't pay much but if you can do it faster (by knowing a lot of shortcut keys) it is a fair enough side income. I did it before but I am learning data analysis now before I move to data science (which is what I prefer).

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

@DML man with 0.5 dkk per word you only have to write 5 words a minute to make 150 dkk an hour... that isnt very low in my eyes.

how to get started in this? do you need an education?
If I could go back in time, I would recommend the 1st high income skill to learn is sales. The problem with starting off with marketing is without a baseline of knowing how to sell, who is going to hire you?

Thats why a lot of people have a bad rap with marketing agencies and freelancers who do marketing. Also why the online course economy has been booming. But think about it, you watch a few videos on marketing, SEO, paid search, marketing automation, where is the actual experience going to come from?

What most people do is they take some course or learn from some guru and then move directly to getting clients, without spending any money out of their own pockets first to learn how to drive quality traffic. Hence why a lot of clients get burned, they hired inexperienced persons to a professionals job. Also, Marketing and advertising can be very costly so I do recommend to take a step back.

This is why I recommend learning sales. Then go sell products and services for marketing and advertising agencies. By doing so, you will learn the ins and outs of what it takes to build a marketing agency. And know that you have the skills to sell your own marketing and advertising services in the future.

Right...

To add: Once you reach a certain level of success, businesses are going to shortchange you.

You will get offended. But it's business.
This is where negotiations starts. You start asking for more but in a way that recognizes that you need them and they need you.

p.s:

so don't get married. It's business. It's nothing personal!
Suddenly, everyone all over the world are pissed. Because you be seeing them as old fruits on the supermarket just as they do.

You are just reflecting the asshole-y of the society.

Copywriting pays like shit unless you go after your own clients.
Did you mean "a lot" or "pennies"?

Here's from Scott Young (https://www.scotthyoung.com)

"Everyone wants to be a programmer or AI developer (at least if my newsletter replies are any indication). Excel, in contrast, is boring. But a surprising amount of business activity depends on Excel.

In a previous post, I mentioned a friend who joked that his consulting business was basically just him being good at Excel. After that post was published, I got several emails from people who do the same thing (as well as business owners looking for such people).

Many of the most valuable skills aren’t cutting-edge; instead, they involve being highly skilled with a commonly used tool."

I have also been on the other side of the table where I needed to hire someone with VBA skills to solve a problem on a platform (Excel) that is widely used and a lot of people are familiar with. Was it the best solution? Probably not. Was it elegant? Definitely not. But it did the job.

Hey guys
I want to start doing freelance work, specifically stuff like proofreading, copywriting, translating and transcripting in my native language, danish, and english. However, i have no bachelor's degree, master's degree or what have you except my own word for that i am extremely skilled in both danish and english and have a natural talent for communication and language (which is why i want to play around with this stuff).

I know some of you guys live the online, digital nomad lifestyle, so i would love some tips and help from you!

Cheers

Danish is a huge advantage because how far a modest Danish salary will go in most places of the world.

Not exactly in line with freelancing and digital nomadism but as case in point: A friend of my Finnish friend worked for a Swedish company doing Finnish language customer support... while living in Colombia. There are agencies looking for speakers of Nordic languages and offer jobs abroad but they don't pay so well based on what I've seen.

Not sure about the regulations but if you could something like described above and optimize taxes (e.g. bill hours from your company etc.).. then that could be a very sweet deal.

For a rough comparison for costs of living in various cities/countries:

Pennies...and I personally know one of the best copywriters in the country.
He quit writing for product launches and started to sell his own skills in a B2B format.
He makes 5 figures a month with a mailing list of less than 500 very niched people.
