How much texting before the actual asking out for a date?

So I met this girl, actually girls, two in a restaurant, they sat next to me I striked a conversation and when they were leaving I asked for their contact (facebook) I though it would b awkward to ask for the numbers of two friends. I added them both the same day and one of them seemed interested. She said that she would like to see me again one of these days, I guess that's good..
So now 24h have passed since we met, my question is, how many texts should we exchange before I ask her out? Like should I shoot straight away, my first message should be something asking her out? or should I send her like "heya nice to meet u yesterday, bla bla" wait for reply, then say something else, wait for reply, then ask her out. Do you know what I mean?
I don't want to seem too direct but also dont want to get involved in endless texting. Do you guys exchange lots of messages with girls before asking them out?

Btw, is there some sort of special interaction of facebook? Or should I just take it as normal good old SMS texting?

Hey man,

That's an easy question.

You engage her, have a little blah blah, very little, then ask her out.

Very little means, stay superficial, no deep conversation. It's a "how is your week going?" sort of conversation. She'll say something then return you the question, and you will mention the highlight of your week. That's it, brief, a few exchange, before asking out. If you go more than that, you risk being caught in the chat trap. If you go less than that, you'll come across as uncalibrated and creepy, even if she already said she wants out with you.

The way to ask her out is gauging for the idea, in principle "hey, let's go out some time" (no question mark, it's an assertion). She'll say "Sure, ok" then next you tell her, "I'm free Sunday 8pm" (or whatever day) and you see logistics.

Another question if you don't mind.. When you start talking to 2+ girls and you all have a cool chat, how do you ask for their contact?.. Like there will be the one who seems interested (but maybe she is not) and maybe another girl that doesn't seem into you but she is. So how to ask the "group contact" ? Ask individual facebooks?
It seems kind strange to ask for their individual phone numbers.

Any suggestions?
