How to Handle Boyfriend Cockblock/WhiteKnight

Hey guys,

Went walking at the park near my new apartment and came across two cute girls sitting in the grass painting. So I walk up next to them in the shade and comment on how hot it is as I get a drink. They laugh a bit and I comment on their painting to find out what they're up to. Figured out they're in college (the same one I went to) and one is visiting from Europe. That girl showed a lot of signs of interest and kept the conversation with me going. Anyways, I kept talking to the two girls and eventually asked if they wanted to join me and my roommate for drinks sometime, which they said they were busy. So I said yeah I get it I'm busy too and they tried to pin me off to social media and I said I don't go on social media much. Basically they were very reluctant to provide contact info but they said they'd take my info and so I deflected that.

After all that, we continued the convo and after a while it sort of died off so I just chilled doing my own thing (checking my phone and emails) before eventually leaving to continue on my walk. We said our goodbyes and I moved on.

I walked around and came across two girls walking together and commented on the dog they had. Anyways, one of the girls showed a lot of interest so I tried to move things forward with her but got the "I have a boyfriend" reply to which I said "perfect - he can make us the drinks then" and she said he wouldn't like that to which I moved it to being a more casual thing with having people to hang out with and again that he wouldn't like that. So after a bit more banter we went our separate ways.

Then I saw a cute girl sitting alone by a tree reading and it was just about to start raining. So I opened her casually as I asked her what she was reading and started having a conversation with her before realizing it was going to start pouring soon so I asked for her number and she said she doesn't give it to strangers (we had only talked for about a minute or two).

So we just continued our conversation a bit and were about to separate when the boyfriend of one of the two girls I very first talked to walked up and said "Hey miss is this guy bothering you? He talked to my girlfriend (at this I interjected and said yeah we had a great conversation) and she said he made them feel uncomfortable. Can I do anything for you?" Being a white knight. So she said no we were just talking and then I could tell what he said made it weird so she quickly ejected and that was it.

Besides tooling this guy or being confrontative, what's the best way to handle situations like these? This is the first time I've ever had this happen to me in all my time cold approaching.

Work on reading peoples body language, and be more indirect.

What did you expect? That's not white knighting, that's him being pissed off and wanting to tool you.

Nothing wrong with bagging the boyfriend a bit if you want to get aggressive with the seduction, but remember an insult is an insult, it's not just a random phrase. It's not like he's going to go "oh that's ok, he was just using the boyfriend destroyer line". If he was a more aggressive guy he might easily have started something with you.

Personally I wouldn't go around insulting girls boyfriends, I would simply be dismissive of them when it came to the idea of getting together with her.

To clarify, I used the "he can make us drinks then" line NOT on the girl with the boyfriend that showed up, but a different girl (from the second set of girls I talked to). The girl just ended up laughing and saying "I dont think hed like that".

The boyfriend that showed up later was from the first set of girls painting. I didnt use any boyfriend destroyer lines on her because I didnt explicitly know if she had a boyfriend or not.
